How to Check a Lettering Delivery

Check a tire lettering delivery before preparing the tire or opening bonding materials. At this stage, a quantity, spelling or artwork discrepancy can be documented while the kit is still organized. Compare the contents with the final approved order, not an earlier design screenshot.

Set out the paperwork and pieces together

Find the order number, latest proof and itemized contents. Place the lettering on a clean surface and group it by intended wheel position. Keep upper and lower arcs separate if they contain different wording. Leave protective packaging in place where removal is not necessary for inspection.

Identify any supplied instructions and check which product they apply to. If a required instruction sheet is missing or unclear, resolve that before installation. A generic online application video is not a reliable replacement for instructions for the actual kit.

Inspect the details that are easy to overlook

Spelling: read every word against the proof, including punctuation and repeated letters.
Quantity: count complete wordmarks, individual characters and additional graphics in the units used on the order.
Dimensions: compare the delivered artwork with the stated finished dimensions, using the same measurement convention.
Orientation: separate left and right versions of directional artwork.
Color assignment: check which elements use each approved color.
Condition: document visible creases, damage or missing sections before handling the pieces further.

Use a discrepancy record

A specific record makes support easier. Instead of “the kit is wrong,” describe the expected item and the received item. For example: “The approved lower arc contains the word CLUB; the delivered lower arc contains CLVB.” This is an illustrative example, not a reported customer case.

Photograph the whole delivery, the affected item and its relevant dimension or detail. Include the order and proof references in the enquiry. Keep the packaging and any labels until the discrepancy is resolved; they may help identify which version was supplied.

Move to installation only when the order is clear

Do not trim, stretch or rearrange a questionable piece simply to make it resemble the proof. First establish whether you received the intended item. Once the contents are correct, organize them in installation order and follow the supplied instructions for preparation and application.

If you are comparing a delivery against a custom lettering order, the approved dimensions and artwork revision are the most useful references. A product photograph alone may show a different wording or configuration.
